A Poem For The Girl Who Is Learning To Love Again

Falling in love is both a wonderful and scary feeling. It leaves you feeling so full and empty at the same time. And sometimes the hardest part about falling in love is knowing that you are not in control and that sometimes not everything works out just as we’ve planned. Love is a storm of its own, and just because it can bring us heartache once, doesn’t mean it will always bring us just that. So no matter how painful it can seem, be open to falling in love again. Because love is what gives our lives meaning, and it is what pushes us to believe in the good. As Mahatma Gandhi said, “Where there is love, there is life.”

Dance with me under the stars,
Dance with me under the moon.

Spin me around and hold me close
While you whisper in my ear

Show me how beautiful love is,
And how magical it can be.

Help me believe again.
As you inspire me to live again.

Because in your arms, is where I belong
When my world comes crashing down

So keep me safe and sound,
For now and all my days.

Tell me you love me,
And that you’re here to stay.

Hold me close,
And tell me everything will be okay

Because tonight I’m losing myself
in a stream of sorrow, in a stream of tears.

So dance with me under the stars,
Dance with me under the moon,

While you whisper in my ear,
That you are here to stay.
