I think everyone wants to have a glowing complexion. For me, my skin always looks the best in the summer, but how do I keep it that way? Of course, you can buy skincare products, but we all have different skin types and they can get quite pricey, so here are some natural ways you can get that glowing complexion you always dreamed of.
Watermelon is your new favorite food. It helps reduce redness on your face, it also helps cure skin damage from the sun. Make sure you drink a lot of water too. Honestly, make it your favorite drink. Remember, you are what you eat so eat fresh fruit and greens rather than those potato chips.
After you shower, get an ice cube, put it in a paper towel and when it starts to melt, rub in on your face. This does wonders. It tightens your pores, reduces puffiness, controls your blemishes and even works as a makeup primer.
Keeping It Clean
Wash your face before going to bed, and wash it again when you wake up. Makeup has harsh chemicals in it and clogs your pores. Even if you’re not wearing makeup, it’s a good idea to wash your face because you never know what could be on it!
Sun and Skin
We all know the sun can do boatloads of damage to our skin but how serious are we about it? A tip; use a minimum of 15 SPF that blocks both UVA and UVB rays. Since a lifetime in the sun can cause wrinkles, age spots, and other skin problems, it is obvious of how much you need to cover up and protect that beautiful skin you have. One more thing, make sure the label reads ‘noncomedogenic’ or ‘nonacnegenic’ so it will not block pores.
Sweat It Out
Exercise is your best friend. Running, jogging and yoga all give your body the circulation it needs and also starts the cleaning process for your entire body. Apply a toner before heading out and exfoliate after, then apply a shea butter for moisturizing the skin.
Yes, you read that right, it says breathe. Stress is a large reason for acne and blemishes, so instead of getting all worked up about an event or an assignment…breathe. Take a deep breath, when you inhale count to seven and exhale count to eleven. Relaxing is one of the greatest things you can do for your body. Learn to relax, how to breathe and be stress-free.
Use A Humidifier
Humidifiers are used mostly in baby’s rooms but they have a great amount of support for your skin in the winter. Turn one of these on while you go to bed at night and your skin will be less itchy, you’ll have less dry skin, and you’ll be able to breathe the moist air more easily.
Skip The long hot showers
Having long, hot showers strip away at the skin’s moisture and wash away the protective oils. A tip; keep the showers to 10 minutes and use warm water.
Munch On The Mixed Nuts
Yes, Eat! Brazil nuts are rich in selenium, which decreases skin cancer and increases skin electricity. Throw in walnuts- which are loaded with omega-3- to press the brake on breakouts. Lastly, add some macadamia for glowing skin. They’re filled with high-quality oils and fatty acids that aid in skin repair. Aim for one handful a day!
Sanitize Your Phone
The number of times we touch our phones in a day is disgusting and is one of the largest germ carriers we have. But we do not see it and so we hold it up to our faces when we are really infecting our faces with the bacteria from everything else we’ve touched in a day. Sanitizing your phone can be beneficial as you will have fewer breakouts and your skin will start glowing again.
These are only a few tips that can help you get that glowing skin all year round. There are plenty more and not all of them work for each person so give them a try and see what works for you. It is time-consuming in the beginning but it is much worth it, do not be afraid, just do it. You can thank us later.
