6 Warning Signs That Your Relationship Is Doomed

You like being together. You seem happy. You really don’t fight with each other. Whether you have been dating each other for a couple of months or a few years, there are some surefire signs that your relationship is doomed. However, most of these signs are just really easy to ignore. As a result, you end up in a relationship that isn’t fulfilling for far too long. In fact, most people are afraid of being alone and will end up staying in unhealthy relationships far past the expiration date of the actual relationship.

While breaking up with someone you once had feelings for is difficult, it is unhealthy to simply stay in a relationship that is no longer providing you with joy. Here are just a few surefire signs that your relationship is simply never going to withstand the test of time.

The Intimacy Has Faded

No longer having sex with one another, a complete lack of touching one another are two telltale signs that the relationship has reached an inevitable end. In fact, once you stop holding hands and making out, it’s a sign that you and your partner are no longer into one another. This isn’t to say that you have to be in full-on PDA mode all the time, but showing affection for one another should never stop, no matter how long you two have been together. As a result, once you stop having sexual feelings for your partner, you can’t deny that the relationship has simply run its course.

The Emotion Is Gone

While drama is never a good aspect of any healthy relationship, passion is something that is necessary for any relationship to survive the long haul. In fact, if you end up finding yourself devoid of having any feelings towards your partner, then it’s a really bad sign for your relationship. Becoming apathetic towards a partner is a telltale sign that the relationship is truly over.

All Your Friends Know The Relationship Is Dunzo

Once you start to notice that your friends are commenting on your relationship then it is a sign that something is wrong. In fact, once your friends start commenting that being with you and your partner together is becoming uncomfortable or simply not fun, then your relationship is definitely over. Your friends are some of the people that know you better than you may even know yourself. As a result, they give you the truth, even when you might be in denial about your relationship, they give you their thoughts straight up and sometimes, it’s important that you actually listen.

The Timing Sucks

There is a myriad of reasons why the timing of a relationship just isn’t right. In fact, age is a very common reason for relationships never really gaining traction. When people are in different periods of their lives, it can be extremely difficult to come together in a healthy relationship. Distance is another barrier towards forming a healthy romantic relationship. When people go away to college, holding onto the love that was once shared between partners becomes increasingly challenging. As a result, understanding the various commitments involved with whatever blocks or obstacles may be contributing to your relationship are necessary to examine.

You’re No Longer A Priority

In every relationship, you want to be your partner’s first priority, not their last resort. Consider how your partner treats you. Once you become a second thought to their lives instead of their first, then it might be time to end things and call it quits. In fact, if you are unsure whether or not your partner thinks of you as a priority then you probably are not, and should just end things right now.

You Avoid Talking About Future Plans

When you first started dating you probably discussed future date ideas and crazy plans for starting a new business. Do you still talk about what your future looks like? If you think about the future and your partner just doesn’t seem to be a fixture in it, then your feelings are no longer there. As a result, lacking in communication is a telltale sign that your relationship has reached its conclusion.

In the end, there are a variety of reasons why a relationship ends. Whether the spark has long gone or the two of you stop enjoying each other’s company, the ending of any relationship doesn’t have to be a sad event. It’s important to look at any ending as the start of a new beginning. Shifting your perspective on a breakup is a surefire way that you don’t feel completely and utterly lost when your relationship ends.
