Why Your Low-Maintenance Friends Are The Real MVPs

Hey, how are you doing? I know it’s been awhile since we’ve last gotten together and caught up on our lives with work and school and life getting in the way. I may or may not be able to see you soon, no matter how much I would love to, but I just wanted to stop by and say thanks.

Thank you for always being there when I need you. No matter how much time or distance spans between us, I know I can rely on you when the time comes. What’s even better is when you mention how you know you can do the same, it melts my heart. I’m so so so glad I can always check in and see how you’re doing, at the best of times, worst of times, and those random times in between.

Thank you for teaching me the importance of patience and anticipation and how those two things really do go hand in hand. Whether we’re near or far in time, please know I am always missing you and I can’t wait to see you again. I know I must be patient to hear your stories all at once rather than detail-less portions of text messages. But it is better than nothing and I’ll take what I can get.

Thank you for showing me how I can support someone who isn’t right next to me when it comes to any storm or achievement that blows through. Thank you for memories that will last a lifetime twice over and all of our own special quotes that we now have a twisted angle on.

Thank you for teaching me more about myself. You know me more than I know myself some days and I appreciate that so much, more than you’ll ever know. Behind every change I make in my life, just know you are definitely part of it. You help me when I don’t know the answers, you push me to believe in myself and that is way more than I can ever ask of someone.

I appreciate everything you do for me and the meaningful conversations that keep us thinking. I appreciate your time, your sense of reality, and your patience. I appreciate you and everything you have ever done, for me and for everyone else.

Thank you for reminding me I am not alone, ever. Thank you for being my go-to person. Thank you for keeping that zone of no judgment, and also for all of the years of laughter and for our silly inside jokes. Thank you for a relaxing moment and a party scene. Thank you for being you, because without you where would I be?
