Basketball fans, get excited because the 64th NBA All-Star Weekend is officially underway! It started with the NBA Celebrity All-Star game last night and ends with the actual all-stars of the NBA on Sunday night with performances and competitions in between – New Orleans is bound to get a bit crazier over the next few days.
The weekend brings together some of the most talented and passionate players in the league along with their popular friends from off the courts. For fans, it’s the one weekend where we can cheer for our favorite player (if they were voted in) regardless of what team they’re on without feeling like you’re betraying your beloved team. As an East Coast girl and forever a NY Knicks fan, everyone knows who I’ll be rooting for this weekend-just saying.
Even if you’re not the biggest fan of the sport, I’m sure you’ll still find some extremely good reasons to watch. After all, not only are these men the best of the best of the sport – they’re all good looking. Check out my personal top ten all-stars for this weekend below (aka the hottest of the hot from this year’s roster):
THE EAST

There is no better person to end my top ten than my personal favorite (even though he’s on The West). If Lala & Melo are my favorite power couple of the East then Steph & Ayesha are the power couple of the West. ALSO, how could you not fall in love with this family and that baby face?LOOK AT THAT BROMANCE – with DeRozan & Lowry in the East and Thompson & Curry in the West, it’s sure going to be a good game.
Not only do you get to enjoy these fine men on your screen this weekend, there’s also the celebrity all star game featuring some of your favorite stars from off the court too! Still not hyped? Well how about hearing who’s going to be performing during the festivities?
If you’re lucky enough to be in New Orleans during this weekend, be sure to catch DNCE and DJ Khaled performing at various events on Saturday night! On Sunday night, The Roots along with former “Hamilton” actor Daveed Diggs, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Michael B. Jordan and others will perform an original NBA-themed musical titled “The Evolution of Greatness” prior to the players’ introduction. If anything, be excited for heartthrob John Legend‘s half time performance!
After all is said and done, I’m looking forward to seeing what goes down over the next few days. From the memorable slam dunk competition to the hilarious gifs and interview clips to come, it’ll be a great party. And the fact you get to look at hot athletes should be an added bonus! I’m sure that should be reason enough for you to relax this weekend and enjoy the game too.
