7 Non-Basic Ways To Stand Out This July 4th

Independence day is one of the most popular holidays in the United States. It’s a time for swimming, barbecues, fireworks, and family fun. Traditionally on the 4th of July everyone wears flag printed everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. Flag prints can be found on shirts, shoes, pants, skirts, earrings, and literally everything else you could imagine! If you are looking to switch it up this year and not wear flag printed everything, then you came to the right place. Here are 7 non-basic ways for you to try on this beautiful 4th of July.

1. Each person wears one color

This one can be pulled off with even the simplest of wardrobes. All you need is everything to be the same color! Assign someone to wear red, assign someone else to wear white, and assign one more to wear blue, if you have a fourth person, have them dress in stars. Dressing in one color makes it easy to figure out what you want to wear and you can always find others in your group pretty easily.

2. Dress like a founding father

Instead of dressing in red, white or blue in general, try dressing as a founding father! It is a great way to teach a history lesson to the kids. It is also extremely creative, and clearly no one else will be doing it. You will never have to worry about wearing the same thing as someone else!

3. Dress according to a Boston tea party theme

If you are hosting a party, make it a themed party! In fact, make it a tea party themed party. Have everyone dress as if they are in the Boston tea party. In fact, you could go so far as putting tea in the pool! Just kidding. Don’t put tea in your pool.

4. Red, white and blue toga

Let’s be honest, everyone loves togas. Guys can wear them, girls can wear them, and age really doesn’t matter. Toga’s are also a great way to keep cool and beat the summer heat!

5. Dress like a firework

We have all seen Katy Perry’s music video for Firework, so why not dress like her to watch the fireworks!? If you can somehow rig a device to have sparks coming from your chest safely, don’t let us stop you from having a fiery 4th of July, although glitter may just be the safer alternative. Get all the attention with none of the danger by wearing a dazzling outfit covered in glitter! Look like the firework we know you are.

6. Dress Like Captain America

What super hero loves America more than Captain America? America is literally in his name! Show your ultimate dedication to super hero’s and America by dressing up as Captain America. Feel free to save the day at your 4th of July celebration while you are at it.

7. Dress as an Eagle

What better way to celebrate an American holiday than to dress as an Eagle? With it being our national bird, it’s a great way to take your American pride to an extreme. Let everyone know you are a true American and you are 100% proud of who you are.

Going with any of these outfits is a good way to make sure you stand out in a crowd. While some may be more dramatic than others, they are sure to make you one in a million this Independence Day. Just remember that the 4th of July is to celebrate our country and we are lucky to live in a country with such pride. Stay safe and have a wonderful 4th of July!
