4 Easy And Tasty Dishes You Need For Your Friendsgiving Dinner

Guess what, friends… Turkey Day is coming! Did you decide last minute to have a few friends over to celebrate Thanksgiving creating your very ownfriendsgiving”, but don’t want to buy a turkey, or simply don’t have the money to spend on a giant bird? In that case, check out these simple recipes that will give you all the flavors of Thanksgiving, without totally breaking the bank.

1. Turkey & Stuffing Bake

Ingredients:
3 cups chopped cooked turkey – (get some turkey breasts from the store, chop them up, then cook on the skillet, and set aside)
1 bag (22 oz) of frozen broccoli florets, thawed & drained
1 can (10.75 oz) cream of chicken soup
½ cup of sour cream
1 ½ cups shredded swiss cheese
1 package (6 oz) of Homestyle Stuffing (turkey flavor)
¾ cup hot water

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spread turkey along bottom of ungreased 13×19 inch glass baking dish, then top with broccoli.
  2. In medium bowl, stir together soup, sour cream, and cheese; spread over the broccoli. In large bowl stir together stuffing mix and hot water; sprinkle over casserole.
  3. Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes.

2. Instant Mashed Potatoes

This one is super easy. Go to your local grocery store and get Instant Mashed Potatoes. Make sure you grab some Turkey Gravy packets as well. Then follow the simple directions on the back!

3. Honey Glazed Baby Carrots

5 min. prep time
15 min. cook time

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
1 bag (16 oz) baby carrots
2 tablespoons of honey
2 tablespoons of brown sugar, packed
2 teaspoons of fresh dill
2 teaspoons of fresh thyme leaves

Directions:

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add carrots, honey, brown sugar, dill and thyme and gently toss to combine. Cook, stirring occasionally until carrots are tender. (15 minutes*)

4. Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients:
2 large eggs beaten
1 15-ounce pumpkin can puree
½ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup packed light brown sugar
1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
½ teaspoon sea salt
1 can evaporated milk
1 already formed pie crust

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In a small bowl mix sugars, spice, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl mix together eggs and pumpkin puree.
  4. Add in sugar mixture and mix until smooth.
  5. Slowly pour in evaporated milk and stir until incorporated.
  6. Pour into pie shell and place on a cookie tray and bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes; reduce heat to 375 degrees and bake until set, about 35-45 minutes.
  7. Cool and top with your choice of whipped cream or cool whip.

It doesn’t matter how much you spend on food or how “picture perfect” your Pinterest Thanksgiving could be, when you surround yourself with good friends, good food, and good games you have had the greatest “Friendsgiving” of all.
