All Day, Erry Day: Can We Guess Your Typical College Day Schedule?

We know your schedule better than you do.

Mondays are boring. Tuesdays are boring. Wednesd – you get the picture, the school week can get pretty boring. So boring, in fact, that it can be almost comical. To someone who’s not hauling a heavy backpack full of books around a huge campus all day, that is… If you’re waking up and going through the same old motions day in and day out, this will all probably sound a bit familiar:

8:00 am – Is that really my alarm? No, it’s too early.

8:30 am  Sh*t. My first class is in half an hour. I guess I won’t do my makeup.

9:05 am – I’m here, and I don’t want to be, but I’m here, and I’m “learning” now.

9:10 am WHY ARE WE OUT OF COFFEE??

9:30 am There’s no way I’m making it through today without coffee…

10:00 am – Do you think anyone will notice if I spend way too long in the parking lot of Starbucks?

10:10 am Please, don’t make me go back.

10:30 am This isn’t that bad.

11:00 am Is it time for lunch yet?

11:40 am It’s practically noon, I’ll just go take my lunch break now…

12:15 pm Only 4 hours and 45 minutes left, which really isn’t that long, right?

12:30 pm Holy eff this class will never end.

1:00 pm – WHY ISN’T ANYONE REPLYING TO MY GCHATS?

2:00 pm My teacher left to go make copies, which means I’m going to spend this time making a new Tumblr blog dedicated just to funny pictures of dogs running in circles.

3:00 pm – If my teacher isn’t back in the classroom in the next 15 minutes, I’m leaving.

3:38 pm – Dammit, he’s back.

3:45 pm – Maybe I can still leave early…

4:00 pm – *chickens out from leaving early for the 10th time*

4:30 pm If I go on a really slow walk around the building, i’ll be late to my class when I’m done.

4:40 pm – If I’m late there’s no real reason to go to class, right?

4:50 pm – Of course my teacher says we have a huge project. Now I’ll have to study after class with my group.

4:55 pm – I’m not staying late to finish this project.

5:38 pm – Okay fine, I guess I stayed late to finish this project.

5:40 pm – I might as well not even come in tomorrow.

>5:50 pm – If I order a pizza right now, and leave in the next 5 minutes, maybe it’ll get home at the same time as me?

5:55 pm – Can I be a stay-at-home-mom for my dog?

Sadly, this is roughly the routine that most of my weekdays follow. And the temptation to quit school and spend my time cuddling my dog and hoping that I can somehow still be a successful adult is a constant desire.

  1. Hey, quick confession – grappling with reports and essays isn’t really my strong suit. Funny thing is, I’ve been tasked with whipping up a thesis that’s focused on a political subject. Now, when it comes to the right way to handle this, I’m kind of scratching my head. Any insights you could share?
