Demi Lovato Talks About The Celeb Who Made Her Go From The Met Gala To AA

Now that the winter months are dwindling down and the sun is coming out, Demi Lovato is already starting to throw some shade. In a recent interview for Billboard, Demi expressed that she didn’t have as great of a Met Gala experience as other celebrities.

“This one celebrity was a complete bitch and was miserable to be around. It was very cliquey.” Demi said. “I remember being so uncomfortable that I wanted to drink.”

The only Met Gala she’s ever attended was in 2016. So this means that she’s bringing up old drama again.

As we all know, a good cup of tea has no expiration date, nor does Demi’s drama apparently.

So who was the celebrity that made her want to break her sobriety? Nicki Minaj, allegedly.

It’s not confirmed that it is for sure Nicki but since this interview, fans have been putting the pieces together and Miss Minaj is the number one suspect.

Both ladies attended the 2016 event as guests of designer Jeremy Scott (Moschino). On the red carpet Demi looked fine, but Nicki did not, giving Lovato some serious side eye.

Nicki posted a lovely and flattering picture of the three from that night, and only tagged Jeremy, not Demi. Sadly the pic has since been deleted. Afterwards Demi posted a picture of the side eye incident with this caption, there was definitely some harsh feelings.

There has been no interaction between the two or any indication about any bad blood between the two until this Billboard interview. But, instead of using this interview as a way to bash someone else (which she always lowkey does), she’s using this as an opportunity to discuss her sobriety.

Don’t get me wrong, stating someone caused them to want to break their sobriety is a very bold statement, but what she had to say afterwards was what made it all make sense. She also revealed she left the Gala at 10 p.m. and went to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.

“I changed my clothes, but I still had my diamonds on, millions of dollars of diamonds on in an AA meeting. And I related more to the homeless people in that meeting who struggled with the same struggles I dealt with than the people at the Met Gala, fake and sucking the fashion industry’s d*ck.”

Normally I find it extremely annoying that Demi always brings up other people and creates drama out of nowhere. But this time I genuinely think she was trying to express the struggles of sobriety and give an example of a time that you would think would be fantastic and wonderful but wasn’t. It just sucks that shade was thrown yet again in order to do so.

I get that she’s blunt and bold when it comes to calling out Hollywood and other people, that’s her thing. But you don’t need to throw someone under the bus in order to tell an inspirational story. She took an educational and raw moment and fueled the need for poor headlines for no reason, in typical Demi fashion.

Will she ever learn to stop the high school drama? Probably not. But I’m really glad she learned her limits and went to seek help because a more serious fight occurred with her sobriety.
