Don’t Waste Your Precious Netflix Time On ‘American Vandal’

When I was in high school, senior pranks were “the thing”. Everyone wanted to go out on top and make their one last impression on the school. They wanted to put their name down in the record books for the “best prank ever” and know that no one would ever be able to top their infamous day of masterful genius. Instead, my junior year someone who was lacking all intelligence spray painted penises all over the school, and with that, pranks were no longer allowed.

When I saw the trailer for American Vandal, I thought it was going to be a documentary about my high school and the idiots who thought it was a good idea to vandalize school property with male genitals. I was like, “Wow! How did someone hear about my little high school’s prank that will forever go down as the worst prank ever?!” And then I realized that Netflix wasn’t making a documentary about my high school, this could be a funny mockumentary about a similar idiot and his love for male private parts.

Sadly, I only made it through one episode of American Vandal before I wanted to bash my head into a wall. My brain started to hurt by the end and I started to feel depleted at the idea this is what younger generations find entertaining, that is how stupid it is. Not only did the story-line drag, the script sounds like it is written by high school students and this was their final project. I literally felt myself losing brain cells by trying to force myself to watch this program and couldn’t find anything positive to write about it. I wish I could give it some criticism as to what it could have done better, but the only thing that I can say is to scrap the whole idea and hope to God that there is no way a second season could come out of it.

Netflix, I’m disappointed in you. Not only did I waste precious time watching an episode of American Vandal, instead of over indulging on my love of prankster Jim from The Office,I’m forced to write about how many brain cells I lost from watching this dumb program. Instead of cranking out fifteen new programs a season, can you focus in on a few good ones and make sure they are of quality that will make us all want to continue to watch and enjoy? I really don’t want to lose an more brain cells on another program or have to write another hateful thing about you my binging-love.

Ginger Views: Don’t waste your precious Netflix time with American Vandal. It is beyond stupid, and you will find yourself wondering why you even entertained with the idea of watching the program in the first place. From the script to the actors, there is nothing that will make you want to watch past episode one. Senior prank or not, we all know that no good can come out of spray painting penises all over a school. You can’t even make a decent TV show out of it. If you’re looking for a new Netflix show to watch, pick literally anything else.
