7 Healthy Meals That Won’t Break Your Bank Account

Grocery shopping always feels like the most daunting task on the to-do list, but it doesn’t have to be terrible when you have a plan. It’s always smart to bring a list to the grocery store with you, especially when you’re hungry, but do you always use 100% of the ingredients you buy? Be prepared with these healthy snacks that you know will make you want to come back for more:

  1. Overnight Breakfast Oatmeal

You can make this however you would like, just make sure you have rolled oats and a mason jar. Add berries, greek yogurt, and a hint of honey. Put it in your fridge over night, and eat it for breakfast the next day! For more information head here.

  1. Peanut Butter and Jelly

While it’s well known in most homes for being the world’s friendliest sandwich, you can keep it healthy too! Using local fresh peanut butter (pro-tip: add some local fresh honey), fresh fruit jelly or jam (feel free to make on your own home stove jelly/jam), and your favorite bread, wrap, or even pretzels lather up the goods and enjoy!

3.Yogurt and Berry Parfait

I suggest using greek yogurt, but make sure you check how much sugar is in it first. You could use plain yogurt because the berries and granola will sweeten it. Or, you could use honey to sweeten it to taste. You can use frozen berries because hello, they are WAY cheaper than fresh fruit, and still just as good. 1. Rice Dishes

All you need are veggies, protein, and rice. I mean, this is a go-to meal for when you’re trying to use up everything in your fridge. It’s easy to scramble everything together, and yummy. Here is a Thai fried rice recipe to check out, visit this website.

Bread is easily one of the cheapest foods to buy, but it can be boring to eat alone. The twist on the grilled cheese is to make it a little more BLT. Check out this more healthy and grown-up grilled cheese sandwich on this website here.

This seems to be such a fad right now! Burritos are everywhere, and seriously, so many of my friends love them. So, here’s a budget-friendly healthy option. Grab your mason jar again, because you’ll need it! You’ll need quinoa, chicken, sweet potato, lettuce, and cheese. This is basically a burrito salad, check the recipe out here.

I’ll admit, eating healthy can seriously bring down your bank account. I think one of the most important things to remember is to have a meal plan ready to go for the week before you grocery shop. This way you will be using everything you buy, things won’t go to waste, and you will be fueling yourself with healthy food. Don’t be afraid to get creative when you’re feeling hungry. Sometimes, combining all of your favorite healthy eats can be amazing! How else would these yummy items been created?! Share your favorite snacks with us in the comments, and eat healthy friends!
