How To Tell If You Actually Hate The Summer

The height of summer is here and the heat is on. And no one is more ready than I am for it to be over. I personally love winter. I don’t like trying to “beat the heat” and I would rather not be miserable while waiting for it to end.

Here are just a few signs you hate summer as much as I do.

You’re not a shorts and flip flops kind of person.

Some people love that look, but I don’t care for it. It’s fine for other people, but it just doesn’t fit well with me. So I am forced to spend all summer in long pants because that is what I own.

The air conditioning needs to be on all the time.

Sometimes I have the air conditioning on in the winter if it’s not cold enough. I can’t do anything if I am hot, so I always have a fan or something on. Your favorite summer activity is standing in front of the air conditioner because how can you find a favorite summer activity when you are miserable?

The last place you want to be is the beach.

Many people go to the beach during the summer, but I would rather go anyplace else. I don’t enjoy swimming, I don’t want to get sand everywhere, it’s usually pretty warm out when people decide to go to the beach, and there are people everywhere! I just really don’t like the beach all that much.

It’s easier to warm up then cool down.

Let’s be honest. You can always put more clothes on. You can’t necessarily take more clothes off. And if you can, does it really help?

You feel the need to shower 57 times a day.

Everyone sweats, but when you don’t like it you feel dirty and want to stay in the shower all day to avoid it.

You check the weather more than usual.

I constantly check the weather not only to see how hot it is but also to see when it will finally cool down again so I can be productive.

You hate your hair.

My hair has the same feelings about summer that I have. It gets frizzy and dry from all the heat and humidity and I have to somehow manage it.

And finally…you dream about snow.

I love snow, which is no surprise considering I hate summer.

Summer is like Monday. We may not always like it, but it comes around. This summer has been especially miserable. I can’t wait for Fall to arrive so I can start feeling comfortable again. So many people have wasted precious time trying to convince me that summer is the best season. It cannot be done. I will continue to love the colder Winter months more. Even now, sitting here, I can’t wait for Winter to be here. I feel at peace just thinking about it.
