Why No Matter My Age, I’m Proud To Be A Daddy’s Girl

There’s always been this bond between my dad and I, I don’t know if it was because I didn’t get to see him all the time or if it was because he loved me so much but either way he’s always been their for me- always there to help. Been there through my toddler, my pre teen, and my teen years. Even now, in my adulthood, and I am so grateful.

When I was young my parents divorced so I went from seeing my dad every single day to only seeing him every other week. As a child you can imagine how hard it would be, not just on me but on him- I think this is why we have such a strong bond. I never felt I was away from him, it’s like he was always around, always there if I needed him.

The best memories I have as a child are mostly all with my dad. I remember our camping trips and when you’d try to tip the canoe. I remember my soccer games and how he was my number one fan. I remember the times we went to KFC and got chicken buckets, then sat by the water, hiked, and had some dinner. I remember our road trips, our movie nights, and our game nights. All of my fond memories seem to come down to my dad. I don’t know where I’d be today if it wasn’t for you, daddy-o.

My dad and I are very similar in our personalities. It makes life so much easier. We can understand each other’s needs, wants, and stubbornness. Their is no better feeling than coming home from a bad day and seeing your dad when he knows right away when something’s wrong. Honestly I don’t know what I would do without my dad. He is incredible.

He’s always been my go to person and that’s what makes our relationship so strong. We can talk to each other like there’s no care in the world and we understand how each other are feeling, how we cope with situations and how to react when something goes wrong. Since we do have a lot in common it comes easily to understand each other. My dad is my power source.

As you go through life you have many ups and downs and a lot of challenges you can potentially say yes or no to. For me, I had a few little things I’ve said no to but dad said each and every single time.. “you’re going to regret this” … and I did every time. It just shows that a father is always right. He’s always been there to push me in the right direction, and I honestly don’t know how he does it. It’s like he has no fear in the world and always sees an adventure- he is definitely where I got my adventurous side from. Every time I have a large decision to make and am unaware of what to decide he always pushes me in one direction, and somehow I tend to grow from each little push. Now that I am thinking about it, I don’t think I have ever made the wrong decision when asking for help from my dad. My dad is remarkable.

Lastly my dad has made me into the daddy’s girl I am today. I look up to my dad; I hope to one day be as great and powerful as he is. I hope to give someone else the support he has given me all my life.

Dad, I know your life hasn’t been easy. I know you’ve gone through so many drastic changes and events throughout your life but they have made you who you are and without those things I wouldn’t be here writing this. I want you to realize how grateful I am for everything you have done for me because it honestly means so much. You have made me into the person I am today; I’ve learned how to be a good person all from you. You have made me realize the beauty in life. You have taught me to always try my hardest, to treat people right, to love myself, and to be the person I always dreamed to be. You pushed me to believe my dreams could come to reality and they are, so I have you to thank for that. You have taught me to never say no, always take the adventurous route and learn to grow from whatever obstacles come my way. You have taught me respect, responsibility, and how to live pure. I am who I am today all because of you Dad.

I love you, I miss you, and I thank you. I thank you for all you’ve done for me and all you’ve taught me, all you’ve sacrificed for me, and lastly I thank you for being you. Because without you, there’s no me. I am so thankful to be a daddy’s girl and more importantly your daddy’s girl!

I love you.
