The 3 Health Hacks You Need To Live By

January has come to end and so has the desperate need to recover from the holiday season. Now it’s your time to choose to be healthy for no other reason than that it makes you feel good in the long run.

However, being healthy can sometimes feel like a burden. Taking time out of your day to get to the gym, to cut and prep fresh food, finding the energy to talk through the fight you had with your significant other, taking time for yourself, and so much more. We all read about the immense number of things we have to do to remain healthy both physically and mentally, and it’s no short list.

Personally, this all becomes a little too overwhelming for me sometimes. I don’t know which to prioritize higher: going to the gym or taking some time to relax. Life is busy and chaotic and while being the best version of yourself is part of your daily plan, it’s no easy feat. In order to help combat this, here are three health hacks to keep you feeling energized and healthy this month!

1. “Yoga Studio”: This app is amazing! Not only does it only cost a few dollars, but it is easy to personalize to you! There is an explanation provided for each different yoga pose for beginners, and it has three different difficulty levels so you can go at the pace you feel comfortable with. There are 15, 30, and 60-minute options to help suit your daily schedule, and different kinds of yoga to help suit your style! From strength to meditation and every step in between, there’s bound to be something for you. Best of all: it’s an app, it can go anywhere with you, and can be opened at any time. Save yourself the 20 minutes of driving to the gym and get started whenever you’re ready!

2. Meal Prep: There are  101 different ideas about meal prepping: what to cook when to cook it, how much to cook, and so forth. However, I don’t think the details to those questions are the point behind meal prepping. The point is to avoid that feeling you get on Monday night and it’s like you’ve already lived through a whole week and then you realize it’s only been one day? Yeah, we all know it. Except if you meal prep, you get to come home to part/all of your meal already made for you and that’s a great feeling. It saves you time, energy, and a whole lot of stress.

3. Write Lists: I am not a fitness or health professional; I’m not a psychologist. But there is one thing I like to consider myself a professional at writing lists. I write a to-do list for my week, and then again for every single day underneath of it. I write a list of what I want to accomplish this year and in the next ten years. For the most part, I add more to these lists than I ever scratch off, but it’s about feeling organized, knowing I thought through what’s coming next, and of course the mental satisfaction of being able to scratch something off one of these lists. It’s about knowing what I want from every aspect of my life and then working my ass off to get there.

Being healthy isn’t as easy as it sounds. In the world we live in, there are a million different ways to do it, and no matter what you choose there will always be someone out there disagreeing with you. However, just merely making the choice to be healthy means you’re already doing it right. Life is crazy, and sometimes following a routine seems impossible, but using these hacks can definitely help you stay on track!
